I was driving around Appin in Argyll with my wife and baby daughter Eilidh when the news of Ronnie's passing came on the radio. It was a very sad and personal moment for me as I'd grown up listening to the Small Faces. Ronnie was my older brother's biggest hero - his fashion sense was heavily influenced by Ronnie and he had everything he had released on vinyl. My brother passed away in 2012, ironically, on the 1st April - something he would have found very cool! Ronnie Lane's music and influence will always be there and any time I need cheered up a watch one of his videos on you tube as his smile and endless enthusiasm for music always keeps me focused on the important things in life.
