Faces

Ronnie Lane formed the band Faces with Ian Mclagan, Kenney Jones, Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart in 1969.

Good-time Blues Rock was one of the offshoots of British music at the end of the 60s, and the Faces were at the forefront of the movement. Bass player and songwriter Ronnie Lane was the heart and soul of the band.

The group regularly toured Britain, Europe and the United States and were among the top-grossing live acts in their peak era.

From 1970-1973 Faces toured the world, playing enormous venues as ‘stadium rock’ took off, selling truck-loads of records.

Ronnie Lane shared primary songwriting duties with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, composing, or co-composing, many of their best-loved pieces and taking a central role during the recording of their fourth and final album, Ooh La La, particularly, as the band’s front man Rod Stewart flowered in his own solo career.
